NYC Broadway Week Fall 2026: 2-for-1 Tickets, Dates & How to Book

Broadway Week is one of the simplest ways to make a New York theatre night cheaper — provided you book the promotion rather than assuming the discount will appear automatically. The official fall 2026 campaign gives audiences access to 2-for-1 tickets across 25 participating productions, including long-running hits, recent Tony winners and several first-time participants.

For travellers already in New York this week, the timing is useful: performances continue through Sunday 20 September. But inventory is live, so the best strategy is to treat the official Broadway Week page as a booking tool, not as a promise that your preferred Saturday night will still have the best-value seats.

01 · The dates: 8–20 September 2026

New York City Tourism + Conventions says the fall campaign covers performances from Tuesday 8 September through Sunday 20 September 2026. Ticket sales opened on 18 August, so the promotion is already well into its run.

That matters because “Broadway Week” is not a last-minute blanket discount. Popular performances can lose promotional inventory as seats sell. If you are visiting before 20 September and want the offer, check now rather than waiting until the afternoon of the show.

02 · What “2-for-1” actually means

The campaign is promoted as 2-for-1 ticketing for participating Broadway shows, with upgraded promotional seats available for select productions at the time of purchase. The final ticketing screen is the place to confirm the actual price, seat location and fees for your chosen performance.

The official announcement also makes two important cautions explicit: availability is limited and blackout dates may apply. So do not plan a trip around the phrase “2-for-1” without checking the exact date you want.

03 · Which shows are participating?

The 25-show list includes & Juliet, Aladdin, The Book of Mormon, Buena Vista Social Club, Chicago, The Great Gatsby, Hadestown, Harry Potter and the Cursed Child, The Lion King, Maybe Happy Ending, MJ the Musical, Oh, Mary!, Operation Mincemeat, The Outsiders, Six, Stranger Things: The First Shadow, Two Strangers (Carry a Cake Across New York) and Wicked, among others.

Seven productions are marked as new Broadway Week participants by NYC Tourism: Just in Time, The Lost Boys, Paranormal Activity, The Rocky Horror Show, Schmigadoon!, School Girls; Or, The African Mean Girls Play, and Titaníque.

04 · How I would book it

1. Start on the official NYC Tourism Broadway Week page. That keeps you inside the promotion rather than searching random coupon sites.
2. Filter by the kind of show you actually want. The official page supports filters such as genre, Tony Award winners, accessibility, last-chance shows and new participants.
3. Open several performances. A Wednesday or Thursday may have better promotional inventory than the Saturday night you tried first.
4. Compare the final seat, not only the headline discount. A cheaper pair in a poor location is not automatically better value than a normal-price seat you would enjoy more.
5. Book through the linked authorised seller. Then keep the confirmation on your phone and check the theatre address before heading to Times Square.

05 · If your first choice looks sold out

Do not assume Broadway itself is sold out just because Broadway Week inventory is gone. The campaign allocation and ordinary ticket inventory are different things. Check the production's normal box office, then compare rush or lottery options where offered.

06 · A sensible visitor plan for theatre night

Most Broadway theatres sit in or around the Theatre District, so the easiest evening is geographically compact. Have dinner within walking distance, arrive with enough margin for security and ticket issues, and avoid crossing town at the last minute because a restaurant looked slightly better on TikTok.

07 · Families should check age rules show by show

Broadway Week covers productions with very different audience policies. Some shows are family-friendly; others have age recommendations or minimum-admission rules. Never infer an age policy from the title alone.

Check the production's official ticketing page before paying, especially with younger children. Broadway theatres generally require a ticket for every admitted guest, and individual productions can set their own minimum ages and advisory guidance.

08 · Accessibility filters are available — still verify the theatre

NYC Tourism says the Broadway Week catalogue can be filtered for accessibility. Use that as a starting point, then confirm the specific theatre's seating, step-free route, assistive-listening or other access arrangements before buying.

Older Broadway houses vary significantly. If an accessible seat or entrance is essential, the theatre or authorised ticket seller should be the final source for your exact performance.
